National ACEC and ACEC-RI have a robust program of awards honoring excellence in all aspects of the engineering profession, from individual awards of achievement to a nationally recognized awards program honoring project excellence.

ACEC-RI Engineering Excellence Awards
The ACEC-RI Engineering Excellence Awards Committee requests submittals for this annual awards program to recognize the engineering achievements of our member firms that have demonstrated a higher degree of merit and ingenuity. This program offers your firm an opportunity to earn local and national recognition and showcase your talent and expertise.
Applications open every February and entries must be submitted to ACEC-RI by mid-May.

ACEC-RI Academic Scholarships
The American Council of Engineering Companies of Rhode Island, a professional association representing forty-eight engineering firms doing business in Rhode Island, presented a total of $12,500 in academic scholarships in January 2024. Five awards of $2,500 each were presented to students.

ACEC Engineering Excellence Award
This is an annual celebration of engineering excellence, honoring projects worldwide that demonstrate innovation, creative problem-solving, and engineering’s unique ability to improve our world. The competition is juried by a panel of industry, government, and academic experts. All projects considered by the national competition must first be entered through one of ACEC’s 51 state and metropolitan Member Organizations.

National ACEC Scholarship
The ACEC Research Institute awards general scholarships, specialty scholarships, and diversity & inclusion scholarships each fall.
Through their scholarship portal, qualified students can access over $415,000 in scholarship funds. Application deadlines vary.

ACEC Research Institute Scholarships
There are approximately 100 scholarships totaling half a million dollars in grants that qualified engineering students have access to via ACEC Research Institute. Application deadlines for all ACEC national scholarships is March 15th.
