Meet Our Guest Speaker

Lawrence “Larry” Gallogly, Defense Mobility Professional and Leadership Mentor & Coach
Larry is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and the Air War College. He holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Colorado State University. He enjoyed a 30+ year career in the Air Force where he served as Commander at the Squadron, Group and Wing level.  Through his career he served in the Persian Gulf War, the War in Iraq and the War in Afghanistan. In 2004/2005, he was selected to lead the first ever combat deployment of the C-130 J model for the United States Air Force in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2009/2010 he served as the Deputy Director (COO) of Mobility Forces at the Air Operations Center at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.

In addition to his military duties, Larry was the founder and director of the Rhode Island National Guard Open House and Air Show. Under his leadership, the show was honored as the two-time recipient of the Dick Schram award as the top community service air show in North America. Larry quickly became a leader in the North American Air Show industry and served on the Board of Directors for the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) for 8 years and Chairman of the Board for two years. The Rhode Island show raised over $1.5M for the Hasbro Children’s Hospital and many thousands more for other local charities.

He retired in 2012 as the Wing Commander of the 143rd Airlift Wing, leading more than 1,200 personnel in both peacetime and combat deployments around the globe. He has flown the C-130 A model, E model and J model and compiled over 6000 flight hours in the mighty Hercules. Following his distinguished military career, he joined Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Marietta, Georgia.

At Lockheed Larry served as the Director of Air Mobility Business Development where he led a team of Business Development professionals representing Lockheed Martin throughout the world. During his tenure he was responsible for over $15 Billion in aircraft sales. He received two Aero Star awards as a top leader in Aeronautics and two Nova Awards for outstanding contributions to the Lockheed Martin Corporation. He became a sort after Leadership Mentor for both established senior leaders of the Corporation and aspiring leaders. He was a regular contributor to Lockheed Martin’s Customer Relations Institute and Business Development Institute.
